His Story

Our Mission

His Story

Blain was what most would describe as a gentle giant, standing out at a height of 6'5" with bright blue eyes. He had a goofy smile that would make everyone laugh and was the life of the party. What most did not know is he used humor to mask his sadness. He struggled with depression for many years. Blain lost his battle with depression on 02/24/23 at the age of 18.

The Song

Our Mission

His Story

Blain's song was inspired by a poem written by his father after his passing. Everyone's life is a song that deserves to be heard, so finish your song. You Matter!

Our Mission

We started blainssong.com with a simple goal in mind: Keeping the memory of our son Blain alive and ensuring his story and his song are shared in the hopes of educating others on depression and suicide prevention. Our mission is to educate and remove the stigma of depression and ensure everyone has resources available to get help.

Suicide & prevention

Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one's own death. There are a variety of causes and triggers that can lead to suicidal thoughts and actions, including mental health-related illnesses, chronic physical illnesses, and PTSD related trama that can contribute to feelings of hopelessness.

Some conditions that can trigger feelings of hopelessness or the desire to self-harm include, but are not limited to

  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Autism
  • Schizophrenia
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Cancer
  • PTSD
  • Substance abuse and withdrawal

Suicide is a serious and complex issue with multiple potential contributing factors. It's important to acknowledge the range of underlying mental and physical health conditions that can increase suicide risk, while also recognizing that suicidal thoughts and behaviors require professional intervention and support.
